DACS Safety Policy Statement

Part 1 - Safety Policy Statement by the Managing Director

  1. DACS policy is to provide and maintain so far as are reasonably practical safe and healthy working conditions, equipment and systems of work for all its employees, and to provide such information, training and supervision as they need for the purpose.
  2. DACS also accept the responsibility for the health and safety of all other people who are involved with, or who may be affected by its activities.
  3. The allocations of duties for safety matters and particular arrangements, which will be made, are set out in the policy document.
  4. This policy will be kept up to date, particularly as the activities change in nature and in size. To ensure this, the policy and the way in which it is operated will be reviewed every year.

DACS Quality Policy Statement

DACS Limited (the ‘Organisation’) aims to provide defect free goods and services to its customers on time and within budget.

The Organisation operates a Quality Management System that has gained BS EN ISO 9001: 2000 certification, including aspects specific to the design and installation of automated conveyor and robot control systems.

The management is committed to:

  1. Develop and improve the Quality Management System
  2. Continually improve the effectiveness of the Quality Management System
  3. The enhancement of customer satisfaction

The management has a continuing commitment to:

  1. Ensure that customer needs and expectations are determined and fulfilled with the aim of achieving customer satisfaction
  2. Communicate throughout the Organisation the importance of meeting customer needs and legal requirements
  3. Establish the Quality Policy and its objectives
  4. Conduct Management Reviews of the effectiveness of the implementation of the Quality Management System
  5. Ensure the availability of resources

The structure of the Quality Management System is defined in the Quality Manual.

All personnel understand the requirements of this Quality Policy and abide with the contents of the Quality Manual.

In addition to all English and EEC commercial legislation and regulations, the Organisation complies with all legislation and regulations specifically related to its business activities.

The Organisation constantly monitors its quality performance and implements improvements when appropriate.

This Quality Policy is regularly reviewed in order to ensure its continuing suitability.

DACS Environment Policy Statement

The Organisation recognises that a healthy environment and the pursuit of business success are inextricably linked. It is therefore a primary responsibility of the Organisation to protect the environment as an integral part of good business practice, meeting the needs of the present without compromising on those of the future.

To implement this concept, the Organisation will conduct its business activities according to the following principles:

  1. Strive continually to attain a satisfactory balance between economic, social and environmental responsibilities.
  2. Commitment to continuous improvement in environmental performance relevant to its prime activities of construction commodities management
  3. Support the concept of continuous improvement.  The Organisation will utilise appropriate recognised management systems, including documentation of all relevant environmental matters and compliance auditing from its certification body and other third parties.
  4. Ensure the awareness amongst all employees of the importance of environmental issues, and provide training appropriate to their responsibilities.
  5. Where practicable, the Organisation provides the necessary resources and expertise to support the development of best practice in all relevant areas of environmental protection.
  6. The Organisation seek to reduce and eliminate waste whenever possible by more efficient utilisation of raw materials, fuel and energy.
  7. Unavoidable waste streams are treated on site in compliance with legislation, local regulations and the Organisation’s environmental standards, or off site through audited and approved licensed operators.
  8. The Organisation adopts ‘waste free’ objectives in all parts of its operations.  Whenever waste is generated; re-use programmes or recycling is introduced.  The Organisation is also committed to reducing levels of water and energy consumption used in its operations.
  9. The Organisation provides the necessary support structures in order to assist employees who wish to protect their environment.  Assistance also is given in developing an environmental public policy and in finding solutions to general environmental problems.

This policy is communicated to all employees, suppliers and sub-contractors and is made available to the public

DACS Environmental Policy Statement (Rail Specific)

In its delivery of Network Rail contracts DACS is committed to complying with all Railway Group and Network Rail Company standards and policies relevant to the scope of works undertaken by us. We will ensure that all our policies are in harmony with those of Railway Group, Network Rail and all relevant legislation.
